Snakes escape flooded farms in southern China

Hundreds of snakes, including venomous cobras, escaped from a breeding farm after the facility was inundated. Local authorities have issued safety warnings, advising residents that snakes may be hiding in buildings and residential areas. Reports indicate that at least one person has been hospitalized following a cobra bite, while medical staff are treating multiple individuals for snake bites. The broader flood event in Guangxi has caused significant damage, resulting in at least six deaths, six people missing, and the evacuation of approximately 50,000 residents. Two local reservoirs overflowed, leaving several villages isolated by the rising water levels.
