Criminal incidents and arrests in Limassol
Recent law enforcement actions in Limassol have addressed three separate incidents. On July 10, two individuals aged 19 and 20 were arrested for a bakery robbery that occurred on July 10, where 300 euros were stolen by a masked suspect with an accomplice on a motorcycle. Separately, a 19-year-old was arrested on July 10 after a pursuit on July 9, during which he allegedly rammed a police motorcycle, injuring an officer, and subsequently ignored three warning shots fired at his vehicle's tires. Finally, police are investigating a hit-and-run that occurred on July 11 at 8:45 pm, where a 25-year-old pedestrian was struck at the junction of Ayias Fylaxeos Avenue and 1st April Street. In the hit-and-run case, the victim was treated at Limassol General Hospital and discharged with non-serious injuries. The bakery robbery suspects are due in court for detention hearings, and the 19-year-old involved in the police encounter has been remanded for six days. Authorities are still seeking information regarding the driver in the hit-and-run incident.
