Cypriot parliament rejects government request for urgent bill debate

On July 9, 2026, the plenary session of the Cypriot House of Representatives rejected a government request to fast-track a bill proposing a six-month term extension for the Deputy Minister for European Affairs, Marilena Raouna. The motion for urgency was defeated with 34 votes against and 17 in favor.
