A fire broke out around noon at a shoe factory in the city of Jinjiang, Fujian province, China. State broadcaster CCTV reported that the fire originated on the ground floor, likely fueled by highly flammable shoe production materials stored in the building. As flames engulfed the multi-story structure, thick black smoke billowed into the air. Footage showed workers stranded on the rooftop attempting to escape the smoke. Local authorities dispatched 183 rescue personnel and 35 vehicles to the site to combat the blaze. By 5:40 p.m. local time, officials indicated that the fire had been largely brought under control.
