Commemoration ceremony held for Isaac and Solomou in Ano Keryneia
On Thursday, July 9, the Isaac-Solomou Memorial Initiative held a commemorative event in Ano Keryneia, Achaia, to mark 30 years since the deaths of Tasos Isaac and Solomos Solomou. A local square was renamed Isaac-Solomou Square during a ceremony attended by community president Giorgos Drosopoulos and Deputy Mayor Maria Angelopoulou. The initiative involves a motorcycle journey that began after travelers arrived at the port of Piraeus. Representing the group, Kyriakos Yiagkou thanked the community for hosting the event, which symbolically links the Achaia region with the occupied Keryneia in Cyprus. Tasoula Isaac and Anastasia Isaac, the mother and daughter of Tasos Isaac, participated in the unveiling of the square's name. The event highlighted the historical significance of the 1974 Cyprus conflict and the ongoing efforts of the motorcycle group. Following the ceremony, the group departed for Elos, Laconia, to continue their memorial tour.
