Police are authorized to deploy drones for surveillance across city streets to monitor for potential disturbances. Officials are taking these precautions to prevent a recurrence of incidents from the December 2022 World Cup semi-final between these two teams. During that 2022 event, authorities reported 266 arrests nationwide, including 167 within Paris. To further manage crowds, specifically in the Champs-Elysees area, multiple metro stations will be closed during the match. These measures aim to ensure public order regardless of the game's outcome.
