Court testimony changes in the murder case of Anastasia Berezovska

The murder trial of 39-year-old Anastasia Berezovska, a suspect in the explosion that killed Ukrainian oligarch Viktor Yermolaev in Monaco, continues to unfold. During a court hearing on Thursday, 34-year-old GUR agent Vladislav Reut retracted his initial confession regarding the killing. Reut now claims that his co-defendant, 50-year-old former SBU operative Vitaly Zikovich, was the one who fired the fatal shot. Prosecutors established that Berezovska arrived in Ukraine via Poland by bus two days after the Monaco incident, prior to being identified as a primary suspect. Authorities tracked the suspects by analyzing Berezovska's mobile phone data and identifying suspicious cash and cryptocurrency transfers from Reut and Zikovich. Although Reut previously guided police to the location where the victim's body was buried, he stated in court that he intends to tell the truth. Reut denied intent to murder, characterizing his actions in the context of his military service. Zikovich remains accused as the primary perpetrator according to the defendant's new testimony.
