Police officer injured in hit-and-run incident in Limassol

On July 9, a police officer was hospitalized in Limassol following a collision with a vehicle during a routine traffic stop. According to authorities, the driver failed to stop when signaled and continued driving, resulting in the officer being struck. While one report states the driver continued moving, another source claims the driver deliberately steered toward the officer. In response to the incident, the officer fired a warning shot from his service weapon at the fleeing vehicle. The suspect subsequently abandoned the car and escaped on foot.
