Alleged crime leader known as Endik arrested in Dubai
The individual known as 'Endik', alias 'Voice', has reportedly been arrested in Dubai following international cooperation, including assistance from Greek authorities. He is accused of leading a criminal organization composed primarily of ethnic Greeks from the former Soviet Union. The group allegedly controlled cigarette smuggling and was involved in extortion, arson, and violence, including contract killings within the 'Greek Mafia'. A massive operation by the Greek Organized Crime Unit previously resulted in the arrest of 47 individuals, with an additional 106 people included in the case file. The organization is linked to the 2022 murder of Giannis Skafouros in Skourta, Viotia. While some reports confirm his arrest, others note that it has not been officially verified, and his current status remains under investigation. Legal counsel for the suspect is reportedly seeking his extradition to Russia to avoid prosecution in Greece. The suspect had been residing in the United Arab Emirates with a Georgian associate before the reported apprehension.
