Ryanair flight returns to Thessaloniki after window incident
On the morning of July 10, a Ryanair flight departed from Thessaloniki’s Makedonia airport. While sources disagree on the destination, with some stating Munich and Ryanair identifying the destination as Memmingen, the aircraft returned shortly after take-off due to a window dislodging. Passengers reported a loud noise followed by cabin decompression and the deployment of oxygen masks. A 61-year-old Serbian passenger seated next to the affected window was partially pulled toward the opening by air pressure, but was restrained by fellow travelers. The passenger was subsequently transported to AHEPA hospital with a neck injury. A pregnant woman on the same flight was taken to Ippokrateio hospital for an ultrasound, but was discharged after no concerns were found. Ryanair stated the aircraft landed normally and provided a replacement flight, which departed at 09:53 local time.
