AEL Limassol welcomes CFA reform of disciplinary bodies

The Cyprus Football Association (CFA) board has decided to restructure its judicial and disciplinary bodies. The office of the single Sports Judge and the Disciplinary Prosecutor will be abolished and replaced by collective, three-member committees. AEL Limassol issued an official statement expressing satisfaction with this decision, viewing it as an admission that the previous system was ineffective. The club argued that the former system suffered from inconsistencies and a lack of public trust. While supporting the reform, AEL explicitly stated it would oppose the inclusion of Mr. Vryonidis and Mr. Nikolaou in the new committees. CFA official Siampoullis noted that specific names for the new committee members have not yet been discussed. The transition aims to address long-standing criticisms regarding the application of football regulations in Cyprus.
