PAOK athlete dies in Thessaloniki traffic accident
Anna-Maria Pantazoni, a 15-year-old football player for PAOK, died on July 10 following a traffic collision in Thessaloniki. The accident occurred around 12:00 when a motorcycle ridden by her father, on which the athlete was a passenger, collided with a garbage truck. Following the incident, she was transported to the G. Gennimatas hospital, where she later succumbed to her severe injuries. The Thessaloniki Traffic Police have opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. In response to the tragedy, PAOK announced the cancellation of a scheduled friendly match against Ludogorets in Bulgaria. Additionally, the club stated that team members will wear black armbands in future matches as a tribute to the deceased player. The club's women's football department will attend her funeral service, and the organization has expressed deep condolences to her family.
