Cyprus school boards announce 2025-26 budget and reform review

The Pancyprian Federation of School Boards announced a budget of €90,239,841 for the 2025-26 academic year. This figure was disclosed during a press conference in Nicosia held by federation president Nicos Megalemos. The budget excludes additional government funding allocated for security, assistants, summer schools, and other educational initiatives. The press conference served as a two-year review of the school board reform process. Over the past two years, school boards have focused on infrastructure projects including the installation of air conditioning, security systems, and sports facility upgrades. Megalemos acknowledged that the merger of school boards has introduced challenges such as increased workloads and the need for new strategic staffing plans. Despite these operational difficulties, the boards reported effective cooperation with the education ministry and parent associations. Facilities managed by the boards remain available for public use by municipal and community organizations.
