Reports of pet shootings emerge in Lakatamia

Residents in the Lakatamia area have reported a series of attacks on pets involving the use of air guns. Irene Sidiropoulou, a local resident, publicized the incidents on social media, alleging that her own pets have been targeted three times. According to her account, one of her kittens died from sepsis after being shot, while another survived with a serious leg fracture. Other neighbors have reportedly suffered similar losses, including a dog and another cat. Sidiropoulou claims that the attacks occurred within private gardens, suggesting the perpetrator targeted the animals from outside the properties. She stated that she attempted to contact the Animal Police multiple times without success. Following the lack of initial response, she filed a formal report at the local police station. During the report, she provided information on specific individuals she suspected, including residents known to possess weapons. Authorities have received these allegations, though no specific suspects have been publicly confirmed by police at this stage.
