Eight individuals indicted for plot to attack White House event
Eight men, aged 19 to 32, have been indicted in Ohio on charges of terrorism and conspiracy to commit murder. The group allegedly planned an attack on a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) event held at the White House to celebrate Donald Trump's birthday in June. According to the indictment, the conspirators intended to use explosive-laden drones to force an evacuation, allowing snipers to target high-value officials. Reported targets included President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Elon Musk. The Department of Justice confirmed that the suspects were apprehended in mid-June following an investigation into their online recruitment and planning activities. FBI Director Kash Patel stated that the plot was successfully dismantled before execution. While the exact stage of preparedness remains unclear, authorities have identified at least five initial suspects and 23 potential network associates. The suspects face counts of providing material support to terrorists and conspiring to kill government officials.
