Suspects in Larnaca jewelry store robbery linked to bank heist attempt

Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officials have linked two individuals already in custody to an attempted bank robbery in Kiti on June 19. The two suspects, a 41-year-old European national and a 33-year-old man, were initially arrested on July 7 following an attempted robbery at a jewelry store in Larnaca on July 6. During ongoing interrogations, investigators secured testimony suggesting the pair's involvement in the earlier Kiti bank incident where suspects fled empty-handed. Following this evidence, the Larnaca CID obtained new judicial arrest warrants for the suspects. They currently face multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit a felony, attempted robbery, illegal possession of a Category B firearm, assault causing bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon, and illegal possession of explosives. The two cases are now being investigated collectively by the Larnaca police.
