Ukraine establishes a new command for long-range strikes against Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the creation of a specialized military command focused exclusively on conducting long-range strikes deep inside Russian territory. This new unit will prioritize the use of strike groups and unmanned aerial vehicles to diminish Russia's overall combat capabilities. The announcement follows recent Ukrainian attacks on oil infrastructure located approximately 500 kilometers from the frontline. Specifically, Zelensky confirmed strikes against oil tanks in the Tver and Stavropol regions, an oil pumping station in Ufa, and a loading terminal in the Rostov region. The president framed these actions as a response to the ongoing conflict and Russia's continued attacks against Ukraine. Additionally, Ukraine is forming new rapid reaction forces to enhance its operational efficacy. The primary goal of the new command is to dedicate all available resources toward degrading Russia’s military industrial capacity.
