Iran issues ultimatum to U.S. regarding Islamabad agreement compliance
On Saturday, Iran announced it would no longer consider itself bound by the Islamabad Agreement, a deal mediated by Pakistan to end conflict in the Middle East, if the United States continues to breach its obligations. Iran's UN ambassador stated that the agreement is at risk due to ongoing American violations. Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi asserted via the social media platform X that Tehran has upheld its side of the ceasefire protocol, while the U.S. has effectively ended it. Araghchi specifically accused Washington of violating the terms by reinstating economic sanctions against Iran. The U.S. president has publicly declared the ceasefire protocol over, leading to heightened tensions. Iran insists that no further diplomatic negotiations will occur unless Washington reverses its current positions. Both sides have accused each other of failing to reciprocate respect in their diplomatic relations.
