Neofytos Michael discusses his transfer to Universitatea Cluj
Cypriot goalkeeper Neofytos Michael, 32, has officially joined the Romanian club Universitatea Cluj after spending two years at Pafos FC. In a recent interview, Michael described his move as a new professional challenge and expressed enthusiasm for his new environment. He noted that he consulted with fellow Cypriot footballer Marinos Tzionis, who currently plays for UTA Arad, regarding the competitive nature of the Romanian league before finalizing his decision. Michael highlighted that his experience playing in the Champions League with Pafos FC significantly contributed to his professional development. The goalkeeper has already made an impact at his new club, including being named the man of the match in a recent game against Dynamo Kyiv. Michael stated that his primary goal in Romania is to achieve competitive success rather than simply gaining experience. He previously played for clubs in Cyprus and Greece before this transition to the Romanian league.
