Vandalism and threats targeted against Deputy Minister Sevi Voloudaki
During the early hours of Sunday, unknown individuals vandalized the political office of Deputy Minister Sevi Voloudaki and her family home in Chania. The perpetrators spray-painted threatening slogans including 'Death to New Democracy' and 'Firebombs at your homes.' These slogans referenced a prior firebombing incident in Thessaloniki. Deputy Minister Voloudaki publicly stated that she remains undeterred and will continue her duties, emphasizing that her family is resilient. She also expressed strong criticism regarding political alignment with those responsible for previous violent acts. Government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis condemned the incident, labeling it an organized attempt at intimidation and a criminal act rather than a form of protest. He reiterated that the government views these actions as a direct assault on democratic principles. Authorities are investigating the event, while the government maintains there is no justification for such violence.
