Cyprus National Guard to participate in France's Bastille Day parade

A contingent of 20 members of the Cyprus National Guard, consisting of 18 officers and non-commissioned officers plus two reserves, will participate in the Bastille Day parade in Paris on July 14. This participation follows an invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron within the framework of Cyprus-France military cooperation. President of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides will attend the event as a guest of honor. National Guard Chief Emmanuel Theodorou will accompany the President to France on Monday. The group is already in Paris conducting rehearsals for the event. This marks the largest delegation from the Cypriot National Guard to participate in such an international parade, following previous smaller involvements in France in 2008 and Poland in 2019.
