Yellow weather warning issued for Cyprus due to high temperatures

The Meteorological Department of the Republic of Cyprus has issued a yellow weather warning due to extreme heat. Reports indicate varying dates for the alert, with some sources citing July 12 and others referring to July 13. Daytime temperatures are expected to reach up to 40 degrees Celsius in the island's inland areas. Coastal temperatures are forecast between 30 and 35 degrees Celsius, with mountain regions reaching approximately 30 degrees. The alert remains active from 11:00 to 17:00. Nighttime temperatures are projected to drop to between 19 and 23 degrees Celsius depending on the location. Forecasters note that air temperatures will remain above average levels through at least July 16. Additionally, winds of up to five on the Beaufort scale are expected near the southern coast, causing slightly rough sea conditions.
