Rescue operation conducted for injured person in a Paralimni cave
On Sunday, July 12, 2026, the Cyprus Fire Service initiated a rescue operation in the Paralimni area, Famagusta district. At 13:23, authorities received a distress call regarding an individual injured inside a cave. A rescue team and a vehicle from the Famagusta Fire Station were dispatched to the site. Rescuers utilized specialized equipment to extract the injured individual from the steep, rocky terrain. Upon successful extrication, the person was placed on a stretcher and handed over to the ambulance services. The victim was subsequently transported to the Accident and Emergency Department of the Famagusta General Hospital for further medical treatment. The operation was completed successfully following the rapid response of the emergency services.
