Cypriot student wins three gold medals at International STEM Olympiad

Sixteen-year-old Nikola Savic represented Cyprus at the International STEM Olympiad held in Rome from July 2 to July 8. He won three gold medals in the categories of Mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Technology & Engineering, competing as the sole finalist from his country. The event's grand final brought together 1,154 participants and guests from 54 nations, while the overall phases of the competition involved over 38,000 students from 153 countries. Savic, who celebrated his 16th birthday on the first day of the contest, was recognized for his individual performance during the closing ceremony. His success garnered attention from the academic community, including an interview with representatives from the Universita Campus Bio-Medico di Roma. Over 2,100 teachers and 1,700 schools participated in the global initiative. Savic's achievement marks the first time a single representative from Cyprus has secured three gold medals at this event.
