Snake handler films four vipers in a Cyprus stream
Cypriot snake handler Giannis Angeli recorded a video of four Cypriot vipers (Macrovipera lebetina) gathering in a stream during a walk in a mountainous area of Cyprus. The expert noted that the snakes were seeking relief from high temperatures. One of the vipers was observed shedding its skin in the water, which aligns with the species' known ability to swim. Angeli emphasized that the footage was captured with respect for the wildlife. He warned the public not to approach wild snakes without proper training, as the Cyprus viper is venomous and potentially dangerous. This event serves as an example of natural behavior within the local ecosystem.
