Dimitris Dimitriou criticizes government approaches to DISY members
Member of Parliament for the Democratic Rally (DISY), Dimitris Dimitriou, has publicly criticized the presidential administration for attempting to recruit members of his party for government positions. During an appearance on OMEGA Channel's 'Enimerosi Tora' program, Dimitriou argued that these actions violate political ethics. He emphasized that since DISY has officially declared its status as an opposition party, the government should respect this decision rather than undermining the party's cohesion. When asked directly if President Nikos Christodoulides had initiated such approaches, Dimitriou stated that such practices should not be repeated, implying that they have already occurred. The discussion also touched upon the case of former Minister of Education Athina Michaelidou Raouna. Dimitriou maintained that the recruitment of party members for ministerial or other government roles is an attempt to destabilize the political organization. He called for an end to these practices, which he described as inappropriate for state institutions.
