Developments in the investigation of the 2010 Marfin bank arson
Judicial authorities in Greece are currently questioning two 42-year-old men charged with intentional serial homicide in connection with the 2010 Marfin Bank arson attack, which resulted in the death of three people. The investigation, which relies on digital evidence, witness testimony, and visual materials, now identifies five perpetrators who acted as part of a 12-member group on May 5, 2010. Two additional suspects are currently under investigation. Meanwhile, a 46-year-old female suspect was arrested at Gatwick Airport in the United Kingdom following the activation of an Interpol Red Notice. The suspect, who had been living in Brighton, claims she is innocent and intended to return to Greece voluntarily to face justice. Defense attorneys for the accused argue that the evidence in the case file is weak, noting that it relies on an anonymous email and forensic reports that do not provide definitive identification. The defense has criticized the public framing of the case as solved, arguing that it violates the presumption of innocence for their clients.
