France and Ukraine sign defense agreement in Paris

During a summit of the 'Alliance of the Willing' in Paris, French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a roadmap for military cooperation. Ukraine is set to purchase 16 Rafale fighter jets, with deliveries expected between 2028 and 2029. The agreement includes the provision of new-generation SAMP/T air defense systems, radars, and licenses for the local production of AASM bombs, Aster 30 missiles, and Scalp cruise missiles. Leaders also discussed the formation of a multinational force intended to ensure security in Ukraine post-conflict, with training exercises scheduled to begin in neighboring countries in the coming months. Approximately 20 heads of state and government, including British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Polish President Donald Tusk, attended the summit to discuss continued military and financial support for Kyiv. Additionally, representatives agreed on the necessity of imposing further economic sanctions against Russia.
