Lucas Digne to return to Paris Saint-Germain from Aston Villa
French left-back Lucas Digne has reached a verbal agreement to return to Paris Saint-Germain after ten years. The 32-year-old defender previously played for the Parisian club between 2013 and 2016. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, PSG has informed Aston Villa of their intent to pay a release clause valued at under €10 million. The transaction is scheduled to be finalized following the World Cup. Digne has reportedly accepted a role as the backup option for Nuno Mendes, addressing head coach Luis Enrique's requirement for a reliable defensive alternative. Digne has played for Aston Villa since 2022, where he made 44 appearances and provided seven assists last season. The move marks a return to his home country after spells at Barcelona and Everton.
