Tal Dilian confirms sale of Predator spyware to the Greek government in court document

Tal Dilian, the founder of Intellexa, has formally stated in an Israeli court document that he sold the Predator spyware to Greek state authorities. This statement was included in a defamation lawsuit filed by Dilian against an individual who was a victim of illegal surveillance. Zacharias Kesses, a lawyer representing eight confirmed surveillance victims, emphasized that this is the first time Dilian has officially documented the supply of the software to the Greek state. While Dilian maintains that the sale itself was legal, he denies any involvement in the subsequent use of the software for unauthorized wiretapping. The revelation is being viewed as significant for ongoing legal proceedings in both Greece and Cyprus. The Cyprus Anti-Corruption Authority has been investigating the surveillance industry and its ties to state officials since March. Israeli courts must now evaluate the veracity of Dilian’s claims as part of the ongoing litigation. This development marks a shift from previous public statements where Dilian referred only vaguely to cooperation with government entities.
