Charis Loizidis holds press conference to review his first year as Cyprus Football Association president

Charis Loizidis, president of the Cyprus Football Association (CFA), held a press conference to review his first year in office. He emphasized a commitment to modernizing the organization, increasing transparency, and strengthening ties with football clubs, associations, and society. During the event, Loizidis addressed the transition to a paid presidential position, explaining that the decision was made in consultation with FIFA and UEFA. He clarified that since the former official, Mr. Koumas, retained his role, a new financial arrangement had to be established. The conference was attended by representatives from the Cyprus Sports Organization (KOA), members of the CFA Executive Committee, and other stakeholders. Loizidis also touched upon critical issues such as arbitration, recent developments regarding APOEL, and proposed statutory changes. He reiterated that the federation remains open to dialogue to ensure the continued development of Cypriot football.
