Repeated vandalism reported at dog beach in Larnaca

Public facilities at the dog-friendly Spyros Beach, located in the Kassianes area south of Larnaca Airport, have been subjected to repeated acts of vandalism. The area was upgraded two years ago when the Municipality of Larnaca installed sunbeds and umbrellas for visitors with dogs. According to volunteer Christina Agapiou, initial sets of sunbeds were stolen, prompting the municipality to replace them as a gesture of goodwill. However, these replacement items have subsequently been damaged during nighttime hours. Agapiou publicly expressed frustration over the destruction of municipal property, noting that such behavior threatens the future availability of these facilities. No suspects have been identified in relation to these incidents. Volunteers continue to monitor the beach during the day, but the damage occurs when the area is unsupervised at night.
