Super League presidential election remains deadlocked after second tie vote

The Super League presidential election remains unresolved following a second consecutive 7-7 tie between candidates Giannis Alafouzos and Vangelis Marinakis. The vote involved 14 Super League clubs, while the Hellenic Football Federation (EPO) previously cast a blank vote. Following the deadlock, EPO President Makis Gagatsis proposed a compromise where the two-year term would be split into two one-year periods, one for each candidate. Gagatsis warned that if this proposal is rejected, the EPO will cast a deciding vote in the next scheduled meeting. This third round of voting is set to take place on Wednesday, July 15, at 15:30. Currently, Katti Koxenoglou is serving as the acting president of the League. The support for Alafouzos includes Panathinaikos, AEK, PAOK, Levadiakos, Iraklis, Panetolikos, and Kifisia, while Marinakis is supported by Olympiacos, Aris, Asteras Tripolis, Atromitos, OFI, Volos, and Kalamata.
