Escalation in hostilities between Russia and Ukraine mid-July 2026

Recent military activity saw intense cross-border strikes between Russia and Ukraine around July 16-17, 2026. In Odessa, Russian missile strikes on residential and civilian infrastructure resulted in two deaths and eight injuries. Simultaneously, Kyiv and Kharkiv faced attacks involving ballistic missiles and drones, causing two additional deaths in the capital.
