Fire at a chapel stand in Kolossi, Limassol district

A fire broke out shortly after midnight on July 15, 2026, at a small chapel stand located in Kolossi, Limassol district. The Cyprus Fire Service received a call regarding the incident at 00:30. A fire truck from the Monovolikos Fire Station was dispatched to the scene to extinguish the flames. The fire was successfully brought under control by 01:29. Preliminary investigations determined that the fire was caused by candles left burning near the stand. The incident resulted in damage to the building's electrical installation and caused superficial damage to the paintwork of the chapel. No further incidents were reported in connection with this event.
