Investigation continues into newborn death at Electric Forest festival
On June 28, the body of a newborn infant was discovered in a portable toilet at the Electric Forest music festival in Rothbury, Michigan. The discovery was made by a sanitation worker during cleaning operations at the venue, which hosted approximately 50,000 attendees between June 25 and June 28. Preliminary autopsy results indicate that the baby was born alive and was viable. The Michigan State Police and the FBI are currently conducting a joint investigation into the death. Authorities are offering a reward of up to $15,000 for information leading to the identification and conviction of those responsible. A woman from Muskegon, who had been a person of interest, was questioned and subsequently cleared of suspicion after cooperating with investigators. Officials have declined to release further details to protect the integrity of the ongoing probe.
