Cypriot Foreign Minister visits London for strategic cooperation talks
Cypriot Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos is in London for a series of high-level diplomatic meetings. On Wednesday, he held discussions with the UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, Yvette Cooper, focusing on strengthening bilateral strategic ties. The agenda included addressing regional security challenges, international developments, and enhancing coordination between the two nations. Minister Cooper highlighted the strong ties, noting that approximately 300,000 Cypriots reside in the UK, while 1.4 million British citizens visit Cyprus annually. Additionally, Minister Kombos is scheduled to meet with Minister for Europe and North America, Stephen Doughty. Earlier, he addressed the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Cyprus at the UK Parliament regarding the geostrategic role of Cyprus. The discussions aim to achieve concrete progress on security and strategic cooperation. Both ministers emphasized the mutual trust and political will to deepen the partnership during a period of significant international instability.
