Cypriot motorcyclists commemorate Isaac and Solomou in Greece
A group of motorcyclists from the Isaac-Solomou Memorial Initiative is conducting a ten-day tour across Greece to mark the 30th anniversary of the deaths of Tassos Isaac and Solomos Solomou. The participants departed from Limassol, Cyprus, on July 8, arriving in Piraeus to visit various symbolically significant locations, including the Acropolis, Rhodes, Kastellorizo, Salamina, and Kyrenia in the Peloponnese. A delegation of the group met with the President of the Hellenic Parliament, Konstantinos Tasoulas, during their stay in Athens. Tassos Isaac was killed on August 11, 1996, in the UN buffer zone near Dheryneia, while Solomos Solomou was killed three days later while attempting to remove a flag from a Turkish military position. The initiative, represented by Kyriacos Yiangou, aims to highlight the demand for justice and the right of Cypriot refugees to return to their homes. Family members of the deceased have participated in these memorial rides to maintain awareness of their legacy. The group continues its journey through Greece as part of its scheduled itinerary.
