AEK Athens draws 0-0 against Vitesse in pre-season friendly

AEK Athens played to a 0-0 draw against the Dutch club Vitesse during their training camp in the Netherlands. The match, held at Sportpark Lonapark, served as a testing ground for head coach Marko Nikolic, who fielded two entirely different squads in each half. The first half lineup included Brignoli, Rota, Georgiev, Rilvas, Pilios, Kairinen, Mantalos, Zoubkov, Koita, Kaloskamis, and Varga. The second half squad featured Balamotis, Christakopoulos, Moukoudi, Alexiou, Penrice, Marin, Sahabo, Ljubicic, Gacinovic, Kutesa, and Jovic. Despite positive stretches of play, the team showed signs of physical fatigue from intensive training sessions. This friendly follows a previous 2-1 victory over De Graafschap. AEK will remain in Apeldoorn for training until August 2 and is scheduled to play their next friendly against Groningen on July 18 at 15:00.
