Internal disputes escalate within EDEK following extraordinary party congress

Nikolaidis claims that the leadership is undermining the commission's authority and ignoring the mandate for change, which included reversing expulsions since 2015 and scheduling new elective and statute-related congresses. In contrast, party spokesperson Giorgos Georgiou maintains that all processes remain strictly within the party's statutory framework. Georgiou insists that the official minutes signed by former party president Nikos Anastasiou and other officials are the sole legitimate basis for future actions. The conflict has emerged against the backdrop of the resignation of party president Nikos Anastasiou.
