DP World Limassol makes donation to Cyprus University of Technology excellence awards
DP World Limassol, the operator of the Limassol port’s cruise and general cargo terminal, has announced a donation of €1,000 to the Cyprus University of Technology (Tepak). The funds are designated to support the university's excellence awards. This initiative is part of the company's broader sustainability strategy, which focuses on supporting youth, education, and the professional development of women. The partnership between the two entities began in 2023 following the signing of a memorandum of understanding. The agreement facilitates joint research programs, staff exchanges, and small-scale development projects. Additionally, DP World Limassol provides internships for Tepak students to bridge the gap between academia and the logistics industry. Chief Executive of DP World Cyprus, Simon Pitout, stated that the investment in education is considered a strategic commitment to the future of the logistics sector and society. Both the company and the university aim to continue fostering talent and contributing to national development through this long-term collaboration.
