Spanish national football team adopts Cypriot MentisVR technology

The Spanish national football team is utilizing the mHub Elite platform, developed by the Nicosia-based startup MentisVR, to prepare for international competitions. Founded in 2018, the company was co-founded by former goalkeeper Urko Pardo and virtual reality expert Dr. Kleanthis Neokleous, with contributions from Tasos Zacharopoulos, Marios Konstantinou, and Marios Avraamidis. The technology uses virtual reality headsets to train players' cognitive functions, including reaction speed, situational awareness, and decision-making under high-pressure scenarios. A specific module, VkeepR, is designed to simulate realistic match conditions for goalkeepers, allowing them to train beyond the physical pitch. The platform records player reactions and converts them into measurable data for coaching staff. This integration highlights the growing influence of specialized sports technology in elite football preparation.
