Cyprus Theatre Organization appoints new general director

The Board of Directors of the Cyprus Theatre Organization (THOK) unanimously appointed Marina Maleni Kyriazi as the new general director on July 12, 2026. This position, which combines both executive and artistic director responsibilities, was originally advertised in February 2026. The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Council of Ministers and publication in the Official Gazette. In the interim, the board decided on July 15, 2026, to grant her acting duties until the formal process is finalized. Kyriazi holds a degree in Theatre and Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master’s in Communication and Journalism from the Open University of Cyprus. Her career includes roles as a producer and presenter at CyBC, as well as extensive experience at THOK, where she served as an actress for six years before joining the administrative staff in 2001 as a Theatre Development Officer. She previously collaborated with CyBC on the cultural show Art Cafe between 2017 and 2023.
