Omonia FC completes the signing of French striker Lois Diony

Omonia Nicosia has officially signed 33-year-old French striker Lois Diony on a two-year contract. The player will wear the number 99 jersey for the Cypriot club. Diony arrives from the Turkish side Manisa FK, where he recorded 22 goals and 6 assists in 38 appearances during the 2025/2026 season. Throughout his career, he has played for clubs such as Dijon, Saint-Etienne, Angers, and Red Star Belgrade, where he won a double and competed in the UEFA Europa League. The club confirmed the transfer after the player passed medical examinations in Cyprus. While media reports initially suggested Omonia was also considering Polish striker Karol Czubak, the club ultimately proceeded with the acquisition of Diony to bolster their attacking line. Diony is expected to contribute to the team's upcoming European qualifications.
