Orbelin Pineda completes transfer from AEK Athens to Monterrey
Mexican midfielder Orbelin Pineda has officially transferred from AEK Athens to Monterrey. The 30-year-old player signed a four-year contract with the Mexican club after passing his medical examinations. Monterrey paid an 8 million euro transfer fee to AEK to finalize the deal. Pineda, who will earn approximately 3 million euros annually, reunites with coach Matias Almeyda at Monterrey. During his four-year tenure at AEK, Pineda made 174 appearances and played a key role in winning two league titles and one Greek Cup. While earlier reports suggested discussions regarding payment installments for the 8 million euro release clause, the deal was successfully concluded. AEK confirmed his departure and released a commemorative message acknowledging his contribution to the club. The transfer effectively ends Pineda's career with the Greek side following several years of service.
