Victim of Limassol shooting regains consciousness
A 46-year-old woman, who was critically injured in a shooting on June 30 in Polemidia, Limassol, has regained consciousness after two weeks. The woman was shot four times by her 55-year-old husband, a police officer, who subsequently died by suicide at the scene. She is currently being treated in the Intensive Care Unit of Nicosia General Hospital. While medical reports describe her condition as stable and note that she has begun to communicate with family members, she remains under medical care and will require further recovery time and potential surgery. The Limassol Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is leading the investigation and is waiting for authorization from her doctors to take her official statement. This testimony is considered a critical element in clarifying the events leading up to the incident. Investigators have already interviewed friends and family members, confirming that the couple had been experiencing ongoing relationship difficulties. No previous records of physical violence were reported prior to the shooting.
