Cyprus expands waste recycling infrastructure network

The Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment of the Republic of Cyprus is expanding the national recycling infrastructure. The initiative involves increasing the number of Green Points and installing new Green Kiosks across all districts. Green Points function as large municipal collection centers for materials including furniture, bulky waste, wood, garden debris, construction waste, and electronics. Green Kiosks are smaller, container-based units designed for remote and mountainous villages in Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos, and Famagusta. These kiosks accept paper, plastic, glass, metal, textiles, books, toys, cooking oil, batteries, and small electronic devices. The project aims to improve access to recycling services for residents in rural areas who currently face long travel distances to disposal sites. All services provided at these facilities are free of charge to the public.
