Cyprus tourism statistics for June and first half of 2026
According to the Statistical Service of Cyprus, tourist arrivals in June 2026 fell by 1.7% to 489,965 compared to 498,527 in June 2025. For the first half of 2026, total arrivals reached 1,656,015, marking a 10.1% decrease from the same period in 2025. The United Kingdom remained the primary market at 33%, followed by Israel at 16.4%, Poland at 7.3%, Sweden at 5.5%, and Germany at 4.4%. Deputy Minister of Tourism Kostas Koumis described the results as satisfactory, noting that the decline has moderated following regional geopolitical instability in the Middle East that impacted spring figures. Outbound trips by Cyprus residents increased by 7.4% to 168,953, with Greece identified as the top destination. The government is currently analyzing these trends to provide targeted support to affected markets and is focusing on planning for 2027. Data is derived from traveler surveys at Larnaca and Paphos airports and administrative records from ports and police.
