Dog attack results in injury and death of pet in Vrilissia

On Friday morning at approximately 7:00 a.m. in Vrilissia, a German shepherd attacked a 66-year-old man and his dog outside a bakery. The 48-year-old owner of the German shepherd had tied the dog outside the establishment before entering the shop. The dog managed to break free from its leash when the 66-year-old man passed by with his own pet. The 66-year-old victim sustained serious bite wounds to his arm, thigh, shoulder blade, and knee. His dog was fatally attacked during the incident and died. The injured man was transported by ambulance to the Gennimatas Hospital for treatment. Police have arrested the 48-year-old owner of the German shepherd on charges of causing dangerous bodily harm and killing an animal.
