Turkish authorities arrest celebrities in drug investigation

Turkish authorities arrested approximately 25 individuals, including actors, directors, producers, and the prominent singer Sila Gencoglu, during a drug enforcement operation. The detainees face charges related to the use and facilitation of narcotics. This operation is part of a broader investigation that began in October 2025. Sila Gencoglu, known for a recent duet with Greek singer Konstantinos Argiros at the Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open Air Theatre in Istanbul on July 10-11, 2026, was among those taken into custody. Other notable figures detained include actor Burak Celik. The suspects were brought before an investigating judge following their detention.
